Interview with the Vice President of Finance and Legal at CUTERA
CUTERA, a company with headquarters in the San Francisco bay area—is internationally known for defining the forefront of medical aesthetics with devices exquisitely engineered to deliver the highest level of performance, safety and efficacy. It currently has offices outside of the U.S. in Japan, France, Belgium, Switzerland, and Australia/New Zealand.
When in 2006, Cutera began its expansion in France, which has been a growing market ever since, Rajesh Madan, Vice-President of Finance and Legal, began searching for a French accounting firm able to assist Cutera with its growing needs. A referral came from PWc Silicone Valley who were the company’s auditors…they suggested Primexis, an independent French firm with a good track record of accompanying foreign companies as they integrate and grow in the French market.
Rajesh’s first meeting with Primexis Partner Didier Hémion and Senior Manager Sonia Vergne at Primexis offices in Paris sealed the deal.
“ I met the team and I immediately felt comfortable with them. I was impressed with how knowledgeable they were. We were rapidly expanding and needed a provider who could jump-in and take care of bookkeeping, regulatory filing, taxes, payroll for new hires – we needed a turnkey solution with someone we could trust. When I left that first meeting, I knew we had found the right firm, I gave notice to our bookkeeping provider at the time…that says a lot.
Primexis has been a real partner, and the “nuts to soup” solution they offered us was exactly what we needed at the time. They were just the type of knowledgeable and resourceful firm we could trust and rely on. Seven years later, in 2013, our business growth in France made it clear that we needed someone on the ground to handle employee relations, billing, etc.…it made financial sense to hire a full-time controller in France. We turned to Primexis for help. Sonia Vergne, senior manager in the International Business Services Department was there to help. She oversaw the background checks, translation of CVs and the vetting of candidates for candidates applying for the job. So, we now have our own controller, but we continue to rely on Primexis for payroll services, statutory audits, reporting and taxes.
If I had to sum up Cutera’s experience with Primexis it would go like this : ‘Primexis is a very professional , ethical, resourceful and well-rounded firm providing the necessary support that international organizations coming to do business in France need.’ That has certainly been the case for Cutera.
